ABSTRACT – Soft Tissue Management Around Teeth and Implants: When and How?
Optimal soft tissue management is essential for achieving long-term functional and aesthetic success around both natural teeth and dental implants. As clinical demands increase, clinicians are challenged to not only treat disease but also to create stable, healthy, and visually pleasing peri-oral tissues. This lecture addresses the key question: when is soft tissue intervention indicated, and how can it be performed in a predictable and minimally invasive manner?
The session will cover diagnostic criteria for soft tissue deficiencies, including lack of keratinized tissue, recession, and peri-implant mucosal challenges. Currently part of a leading implant team in the UK, Dr. Ivancheva combines clinical excellence with a deep commitment to continuous education. She has trained internationally in cities such as London, Milan, and Dubai, ensuring she remains at the forefront of modern restorative dentistry.
As both a lecturer and tutor in implant dentistry, she is actively involved in educating the next generation of clinicians. Prof. Cristian Dinu is an experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeon with over 15 years of expertise in implantology and complex surgical procedures. As Associate Professor at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Iuliu Hațieganu” in Cluj-Napoca, he combines academic leadership with extensive clinical experience.
He is the founder of a multidisciplinary private clinic focused on implantology, aesthetic dentistry, and periodontology, where he manages advanced and demanding cases. Prof. Dinu has been actively involved in numerous national and international research projects and has authored more than 40 scientific publications, as well as several specialty books.
A frequent speaker at international congresses, he is known for his comprehensive and clinically oriented presentations. His lectures provide valuable insights into surgical decision-making and advanced implant techniques, making them highly relevant for clinicians dealing with complex cases.

After graduating from ACTA, he completed an extensive postgraduate program in restorative dentistry and oral implantology at Radboud University Nijmegen.
He is the founder of a successful referral clinic in Bussum, where he focuses on delivering optimal aesthetic and functional outcomes in complex implant cases. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Abas is a recognized specialist by both the NVOI and NVVRT and has contributed extensively to the literature with numerous publications.
