On September 19, more than 150 dental professionals gathered in the beautifully illuminated Handelsbeurs Antwerp for the bone & tissue day 2026, one of the leading educational events in regenerative dentistry in the Benelux region. Organized by botiss biomaterials Benelux in close collaboration with neDwork, the event brought together clinicians from periodontology, implantology, oral surgery, and restorative dentistry for a day dedicated to science, innovation, and clinical excellence.
The historic venue provided an impressive backdrop for a highly engaging scientific program, moderated by Dr. Pierre Lahoud (KU Leuven), who guided the audience through a carefully curated series of lectures focused on contemporary concepts in bone and soft tissue regeneration.
Lecture highlights
Five speakers shared their insights on bone and soft tissue regeneration.
Dr. László Párkányi
Minimal Invasiveness in Bone Grafting Procedures
Dr. Párkányi demonstrated how modern regenerative surgery increasingly focuses on reducing surgical trauma while maintaining clinical predictability. Through careful case selection, digital planning, and refined surgical protocols, minimally invasive approaches can enhance both clinical outcomes and patient experience.
Dr. Victoria Ivancheva
Bone Grafting: Regeneration or Repair in Complex Cases?
Dr. Ivancheva explored the balance between biological ambition and clinical predictability. Her presentation emphasized that successful treatment begins with clearly defining the objective, whether complete regeneration, functional rehabilitation, or creating a stable foundation for implant placement. Predictability, rather than complexity, should drive treatment decisions.
Prof. Dr. Adrian Kasaj
Soft Tissue Management Around Teeth and Implants: When and How?
Prof. Kasaj highlighted the critical role of diagnosis, timing, and indication in soft tissue therapy. His lecture reinforced that long-term success around both teeth and implants depends not only on hard tissue support but equally on achieving stable and healthy peri-implant soft tissues.
Dr. Irfan Abas
Full-Arch Bone and Tissue Grafting After Immediate Implant Placement
Through complex full-arch rehabilitation cases, Dr. Abas illustrated the importance of integrating implant placement, hard tissue augmentation, and soft tissue management into a single comprehensive treatment strategy. The presentation demonstrated how efficiency and biological predictability must always go hand in hand.
Prof. Cristian Dinu
State-of-the-Art Sinus Floor Elevation in Implant Surgery
Prof. Dinu provided a contemporary overview of sinus augmentation procedures, focusing on anatomical assessment, digital planning, risk management, and treatment selection. His key message was clear: there is no universal technique; successful sinus augmentation requires a customized approach based on the individual patient’s anatomy and clinical indication.
The common thread
Despite covering a wide spectrum of regenerative procedures, all lectures pointed toward the same overarching message:
Successful regenerative dentistry is not about performing the most extensive procedure possible, but about selecting the most appropriate treatment for the specific patient, defect, and clinical situation.
Across all presentations, five recurring themes emerged:
- Minimize surgical intervention whenever possible.
- Define clear treatment goals before selecting techniques.
- Manage hard and soft tissues as an integrated biological system.
- Develop complete treatment strategies rather than isolated procedures.
- Adapt clinical techniques to anatomy, biology, and patient-specific factors.
More than a scientific meeting
Beyond the scientific program, bone & tissue day 2026 once again demonstrated the importance of bringing the regenerative dentistry community together. Throughout the day, participants engaged in lively discussions, exchanged clinical experiences, explored innovative solutions with industry partners, and strengthened professional connections.
We look back on a highly successful edition of the bone & tissue day Antwerp 2026 and thank all speakers, partners, participants, neDwork, and moderator Dr. Pierre Lahoud for contributing to a truly inspiring day of education, collaboration, and innovation in regenerative dentistry.
